২০২২ চনৰ মে’ মাহত উত্তৰ-পূব ভাৰতৰ অসমত মাৰাত্মক বানপানীৰ সৃষ্টি হৈছিল। ৬ লাখ ৫০ হাজাৰতকৈ অধিক লোকক ঘৰৰ পৰা উচ্ছেদ কৰাৰ লগতে ২৫ জন লোক নিহত হোৱাৰ খবৰ পোৱা গৈছে।[1]তিনিদিনীয়া ধাৰাসাৰ বৰষুণৰ ফলত ব্ৰহ্মপুত্ৰ নদীৰ পাৰ ফাটি যোৱাৰ পিছত ১৯০০ খন গাঁও ডুব যায়।[2]
জুন মাহৰ ভিতৰত ৰাজ্যখনত দ্বিতীয়টো বানপানীৰ ফলত অধিক লোকে ক্ষতিগ্ৰস্ত হোৱাৰ লগতে প্ৰাণ কাঢ়ি লৈছে।[3] আই এম ডিৰ মতে, ইয়াৰ মূল কাৰণ আছিল সমগ্ৰ ৰাজ্যত অতিৰিক্ত বৰষুণ।[4]

২০২২ চনৰ মে’ মাহত সমগ্ৰ ৰাজ্যত স্বাভাৱিকতকৈ অধিক বৰষুণৰ বাবেই বানপানীৰ সৃষ্টি হৈছিল।[5] ২৫ মে’ লৈকে ৬ লাখতকৈ অধিক লোক আক্ৰান্ত হৈছে আৰু ২৫ জন লোকে প্ৰাণ হেৰুৱাইছে।[6][7] অসম ৰাজ্যিক দুৰ্যোগ ব্যৱস্থাপনা প্ৰাধিকৰণৰ তথ্য অনুসৰি সমগ্ৰ ৰাজ্যতে হাজাৰ হাজাৰ গাঁও আৰু ৬০ হাজাৰ হেক্টৰতকৈ অধিক (৬০০ কিলোমিটাৰ বৰ্গফুট) শস্যৰ ভূমি ক্ষতিগ্ৰস্ত হৈছে। ৰাজ্যজুৰি কৰ্তৃপক্ষই কেইবাটাও সাহায্য শিবিৰ আৰু বিতৰণ কেন্দ্ৰ চলাই হাজাৰ হাজাৰ লোকক আশ্ৰয় দিছে।[8] বানপানী আৰু ভূমিস্খলনৰ ফলত ৰে’ল লাইনতো ক্ষতিগ্ৰস্ত হৈছিল।[9]
২০২২ চনৰ ১৭ জুনলৈকে অসম আৰু মেঘালয়ত বানপানী আৰু ভূমিস্খলনত ২০ জন লোকৰ মৃত্যু হোৱাৰ খবৰ আহিছিল।[10]
১৯ জুনলৈকে বানপানীৰ ফলত ৩০ লাখতকৈ অধিক লোক (ৰাজ্যৰ জনসংখ্যাৰ প্ৰায় ১০%) ক্ষতিগ্ৰস্ত হৈছে আৰু মৃত্যুৰ সংখ্যা ৬২ লৈ বৃদ্ধি পাইছে।[3] ৩২ খন জিলাৰ ৪ হাজাৰতকৈ অধিক গাঁও ক্ষতিগ্ৰস্ত হৈছে, আৰু ১৫ লাখ লোকে আশ্ৰয় লৈছে ৫০০ টা সাহায্য শিবিৰ। বহুতো সতেজ ভূমিস্খলনও ৰেকৰ্ড কৰা হৈছিল।[11] ব্ৰহ্মপুত্ৰ নদী আৰু ইয়াৰ উপনৈ জিয়া-ভৰালী, পুঠিমাৰী, মানস, বেকী, আৰু বৰাক উপত্যকাৰ নদী বৰাক আৰু কুছিয়াৰা, আটাইকেইখনেই বিপদ স্তৰৰ ওপৰেৰে বৈ আছিল।[12]
