This is a list of stub messages/templates that are applied to stubs. This list is maintained and regularly updated by the Stub sorting WikiProject, with the purpose of keeping a list of templates and categories approved by WP:WSS. Please do not add any other material here, as it will be removed.

Andrew Lui

Andrew Lui Wai Chuen (born in 27 June,1974) is a Chinese who is educated in Sydney, Australia. He is an author of short stories and some poems. He won the prize of poetry competition of Inter-school competition in 1993. His works mainly concern Philosophy and Loves. He studied Australian, English and American Literatures.

Note to admins deleting stub types

It is important for consistency, and to avoid confusion on the parts of stub-sorters, that stub types be removed from the stub type list when they are deleted. Please don't leave red links on this page!

A note on the numbers

From March 15, 2007 all size counts were removed from this page, as part of an effort to improve accessibility and maintainability. A list of those stub categories with sizes over the largest considered reasonable appears on WikiProject Stub sorting/To do, and complete list of all stub categories, ordered by size, is at WikiProject Stub sorting/Stub type sizes.

Codes: B, R and *W

*B indicates there's a corresponding biography stub type, and gives a link to that category.
*R indicates that there are redirects to this template.
*W gives a link to the specific WikiProject associated with the topic covered by the stub template and its category.

Relationships between stub types

The parent-child relationships shown in the listing below reflect the relationship between categories into which each template places the article to which it is affixed. Multiple parentage is indicated by the presence of small text describing child stub types that appear elsewhere in the listing. This is done to eliminate duplication of stub counts, which inevitably leads to different values for the multiple listings of the same stub type as a result of human error.

Stub categories without a stub template

There are a few stub categories that are not associated with a stub template or contain only child categories (no articles).

Americas geography stubs: only holds categories relating to the geography of the western hemisphere (as listed below under North and Central American geography and South American geography).
Symbol stubs: only holds the categories Anthem stubs, Flag stubs, and Heraldry stubs.
Fictional universe stubs: only holds the categories for individual fictional universe stubs.
Film stubs by genre: only holds the categories for film stubs by genre.

Generic stub types

Stubs | {{Stub}} (Used when the exact category of stub is not known; often added by bots. Should be replaced quickly with a more accurate stub.)

Note:

Category:Articles to be expanded contains articles which are no longer stubs, but still need expansion to become encyclopedic. Various cleanup templates include articles in this category, but they should not be placed on articles which are still marked with a stub template - one or the other should be used, but not both.

Category:Stub template redirects contains articles that have a particular section lacking, but are otherwise no longer a stub. Articles marked with this template are also categorised in শ্ৰেণী:Articles to be expanded.
