This template should be used on articles describing a dotcom and its website (for example: YouTube, eBay, Facebook). If the two entities do not share the same name and/or have their own article, use {{Infobox company}} and {{Infobox website}} instead on the appropriate article (example: Google (company) and Google search (website), Yahoo! (company) and Yahoo! Search (website)).

Copy a blank version to use. All parameters must be lower case. Some parameter use a space while others use an underscore as shown. All fields are optional except the location of the company's headquarters. To specify the location specify either |location_city= and |location_country= or |location=.

The HTML mark up produced by this template includes an hCard microformat, which makes the organisation's details parsable by computers, either acting automatically to catalogue article across Wikipedia, or via a browser tool operated by a reader, to (for example) add the subject to an address book. For more information about the use of microformats on Wikipedia, please see the microformat project.

If the organisation has an "established", "founded", "opened" or similar date, use {{Start date}} (unless the date is before 1583 CE)

If the organisation has a URL, use {{Url}}

If the organisation has a "coordinates" field, use {{Coord}} to include a Geo microformat, which additionally makes the coordinates (latitude & longitude) parsable, so that they can be, say, looked up on a map, or downloaded to a GPS unit.

hCard uses HTML classes including:

  • adr
  • agent
  • category
  • country-name
  • extended-address
  • fn
  • geo
  • label
  • latitude
  • locality
  • longitude
  • nickname
  • note
  • org
  • region
  • street-address
  • url
  • vcard

Please do not rename or remove these classes; nor collapse nested elements which use them.

Use {{Birth date}} for the "foundation" date, but ONLY if a full YYYY-MM-DD date is available.
